El Carcamo is a 2-hectare farm belonging to Felipe Marin in the village of La Palma in Chirinos. The farm, cultivated with Caturra, Pache, and Marshell, is located at an altitude between 1700 and 1800 meters above sea level. Felipe inherited the land from his father, Silvestre, and in 2015 planted different varieties commonly found on most farms in Peru. Later, in 2020, he planted the Marshell variety on half a hectare, a variety that has gained fame in Peru over the last decade for its cup quality and rust resistance.

Felipe manages most of the work on the farm himself, with the help of his family, and applies a mix of some organic and some chemical fertilisers. According to Felipe, chemical and manual weed control helps reduce costs and maintain a healthy farm and production. During the harvest season, Felipe and his siblings hire seasonal workers who move from one farm to another for picking, employing up to 10 pickers during the peak season.
